A brief but intriguing tour of Corfu takes you past the Old Fortress that stands guard over the harbor and Corfu. You'll pass lemon trees and a carefully tended flower garden on the way to the chapel, where a small museum exhibits Byzantine and ecclesiastical art. Your next stop, Paleokastritsa Village, is a seaside village considered by many to be the finest scenery in the entire Mediterranean. With a guide by your side, you'll visit Corfu Town and see the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, once home to Corfu's British rulers. You're free to follow the narrow streets and small plazas to the church of St. Spyridon, the final resting place of the island's patron saint.
Special Notes:Dress appropriately; respectful attire is required when visiting the monastery and church. Shorts and brief, tight-fitting clothing is not permitted at the monastery; women are requested to have their shoulders covered.
