Spend an action-packed day beginning with a 4x4 tour of the Southern Alps hill country. The adrenaline starts pumping at the Springfield Adventure Centre when you get in an off-road vehicle for a scenic and exciting ride to Mt. Torlesse Station, a 10,000 acre working sheep and cattle station. You'll no doubt appreciate the spectacular views of river gorges, rugged high country and the jagged peaks of the Southern Alps as the 4x4 revs off the beaten trail or two. After enjoying your exciting off road adventure you'll return to the Centre for lunch. But the fun's not over yet! After lunch, you'll board a jet boat for a thrilling ride deep into the heart of the Waimakariri River Gorge. Marvel at the canyons and gorges where steep rock faces are lined with native forest as the boat speeds, spins and skims over water at times only centimetres deep.
