Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

Dubbed 'Canada's Food Island' PEI is a foodie paradise. Discover the savory delights for yourself on a walking tour to a number of local establishments offering steamed mussels, lobster rolls, craft beer, french fries made with island potatoes and more (for those under 19, nonalcoholic beverages will be served). Not only can you experience some of the city's best food and beverages but you'll also gain an appreciation for the city's history. There's lots of walking so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.

From Seaport you'll follow in the footsteps of the Fathers of Confederation who walked up historic Great George Street for the 1864 Conference that set in motion the establishment of Canada as independent from Great Britain. Near St. Dunstan's Basilica, the largest church on Prince Edward Island your first tasting stop will be at the Gallery Coffee House & Bistro for one of their delicious pastries and coffee. In keeping with its history as an art gallery, the walls are adorned with local art work.

Then see what's brewing at Gahan House Brew Pub, the oldest craft brewery in Charlottetown. Each handcrafted ale is brewed on-site and made with the freshest ingredients, with no additives or preservatives and brewed in small batches. Fresh island seafood is also a specialty here and during your visit you can enjoy an appetizing helping of their signature mussels practically right off the boat.

Finally, you'll head back to the waterfront but your appetizing adventure isn't over yet. Next stop is the Queen of Fries Chip Shack for a scrumptious serving of hand-cut fries made from Island potatoes.

Last but not least, visit Lobster on the Wharf, a restaurant and seafood market that has been the 'place for lobster' in Charlottetown since 1964. Here you'll be treated to one of their delicious lobster mini rolls and a fresh raw oyster.

Once you've completed your epicurean journey of sight, scent and taste burn off some calories by walking back to your ship hopefully with notes of what you tasted so you can search for them when you return home.

Special Notes:

Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions. This tour is not appropriate for persons with mobility issues. It involves walking about 2 miles. Two locations have 10-15 stair steps that must be climbed.
