Your excursion begins at the pier where you'll board your transportation and drive to one of the most beautiful gardens in the world: the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Stroll the manicured pathways through a Cypress Swamp that was turned into a garden by the Reverend John Drayton prior to the War Between the States. The stunning natural beauty of these unique gardens is an impressive sight, particularly in the fall when Camellia Sasanquas and early Camellia Japonicas adorn the gardens.
After touring the gardens, board a Nature Train that will take you into part of the Audubon Swamp Garden, home to water-loving wildlife traversed by boardwalks, dikes and bridges.
Enjoy lunch in the Magnolia Gardens Pavilion on the beautiful grounds of the plantation where you'll have a boxed lunch with sandwich, sides, cookie and soft drink or water. Afterwards you'll have time to browse for gifts and souvenirs at the gift shop or visit the petting zoo. Finally before returning to the ship, you'll head back to Charleston for a tour of the beautiful historic district, including The Battery and The Four Corners of Law.
