Have a devouring passion for good food? Then let your taste buds be your guide during this three-hour tasting tour. Stroll along Avalon's palm-lined streets and relish the fresh air and sunshine as you taste a variety of critically acclaimed entrees, desserts, and beverages from some of the city's finest dining establishments and specialty shops.

To thoroughly enjoy your epicurean journey, be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, and sunscreen. And don't forget to bring your appetite. Your menu includes ample samples of six different eateries. (All offerings and server gratuities at each establishment are included in the overall ticket price but you may wish to bring money for extras, drinks, and incidentals.)

After boarding the shore boat, it's a quick cruise to the pier where you'll disembark and meet your guide. From here, it's just a short walk to downtown Avalon.

But delicious food isn't the only thing that's being served up. Your friendly and knowledgeable guide will share fascinating tidbits and dish on the island's history and culture as you meander the less than one-mile long route.

As you snack on succulent samples you may hear tales of founder William Wrigley Jr. and how he purchased the island in 1919 and ten years later built the iconic Catalina Casino, which boasts the world's largest circular ballroom. Of course, being so close to Hollywood it wouldn't be hard to believe that Catalina has seen its share of celebrities. But did you know that the island has been the star of 500 motion pictures, documentaries, television programs and commercials over the past 90 years? Since the days of the silents, Catalina has been transformed into the coast of North Africa, the American frontier and the lost continent of Atlantis.

Continuing on, you'll indulge in the sights, sounds, and stories surrounding Avalon's historical landmarks and charming architecture. To learn more about the island's history be sure to come back and visit the Catalina Museum, which boasts displays of early Catalina Native artifacts, topographical maps, tile specimens and historical photographs.

But the main attraction, of course, is the delectable food. You'll spend about 20 to 30 minutes at each establishment eating and meeting the shop owners or chefs before moving on.

Once you've completed your epicurean journey of sight, scent and taste, you'll walk back down to the pier, board your shore boat and return to your ship.
