What you will visit:

Catalina Island:
A warm and welcoming resort, Catalina is noted for its beautiful coastline, an unspoiled habitat for an abundance of wildlife. The waters in these areas are home to Pacific harbor seals that stay close to shore in subtidal and intertidal zones. They also host California sea lions, dolphins and (from February to March) gray whales on their way to their feeding ground in Alaska. Steeped in geological significance and history, these waters were fished by the Tongva tribe, and Portuguese explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, while sailing for Spain, was the first European to set foot on the island. During the next 300 years, the island hosted many visitors, including Russian otter hunters, Yankee smugglers, itinerant fishermen, and even the Chicago Cubs baseball team.

The Scuba Cat is a well-equipped vessel, with three hot-shower heads, two photography tables, and easy entry into the water via wide access ladders. Relax on the sun deck as your knowledgeable boat captain maneuvers you to a pristine snorkel spot. Don your provided equipment and look for half-moon fish, blacksmiths, señoritas, large calico bass, black perch, opaleyes, and of course the bright orange garibaldi, the state fish of California.

What you will see along the way:

A refreshing ocean breeze invigorates as you sit aboard the Scuba Cat, offering maximum views of Catalina Island's wildlife. The unspoiled northern coast of Catalina is home to plentiful marine life unique to these waters. Keep an eye out for seal pups and dolphins frolicking in the ocean, and spot the majestic bald eagles and red-tail hawks that sail the wind currents.
