WHAT YOU VISIT
Fitzroy Island
Surrounded by a reef system that forms part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, the 838-acre island offers something for everyone. Once on the island you can chose to snorkel (equipment will be provided) or take a glass bottom boat ride to view the magnificent coral and marine life of the Great Barrier Reef. Also included is access to stand up paddle boards and paddle skis (available on a first come first served basis and so are not guaranteed).

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
This treasured isle is a nature lover's paradise. Among the wildlife you may encounter are birds such as the sulphur crested cockatoo, whose familiar screech can be heard echoing across the island and the spectacled flying fox (also known as a fruit bat). Look out below and you may see common types of snakes like carpet and spotted pythons, as well as the brown and Northern tree snakes. One of the largest predators on the island is the three-foot-long yellow-spotted monitor lizard. Easily camouflaged in tall grass and scrub, it sometimes can be seen cruising around the jetty.

With the great outdoors as your dining room, you'll be treated to a packed picnic lunch.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
The 50-minute ferry boat ride from Cairns is very scenic as you cruise along the tropical coastline.

There is an approx. 10 minute walk to/from the pier to the marina departure point.
Not suitable for mobility guests who are unable to walk over sand and to/from the departure point.
