WHAT YOU VISIT
Sea of Cortez Scuba for Beginners
This beginner's scuba diving class is the perfect way to get your feet wet. Under the guidance of a professional instructor, you'll learn the basics of scuba diving such as how to deal with water pressure and how to breathe through a regulator. Designed for those 12 years of age and up, you'll join a certified dive instructor for a 30-minute instructional orientation then you can test your skills and gain some confidence in shallow water. Once you're ready, you'll follow your guide 20 to 40 feet below the surface. During your dive, you'll explore the spectacular variety of underwater reefs, rock formations, caves, reefs, and sand falls. Diving conditions are great all year and June to December offer the greatest visibility, warmest water and longest periods of calm weather. Visibility can exceed 100 feet, and the temperature averages between 78°F and 85°F.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Jacques Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez, "The Aquarium of the World" and it's no wonder-during your dive you may encounter King and Cortez angelfish, Moorish idols, parrotfish and sturgeons while starfish, sea fans, urchins and small sponges adorn the rocky crannies.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Soak up the ocean breezes and cloud-filled sky as your boat zips across the water to the perfect dive site.
