What you will visit:

The capital and main port of Bonaire is Kralendijk, which means 'coral reef.' It is a charming hub of commercial and cultural activity. Just a few blocks in size, the streets are lined with Caribbean architecture from the late 1800s to the 1900s and confectionary-colored stucco houses in vibrant shades of pink, lime green and orange. Popular Kaya Grandi is the shopping district, while waterfront eateries line the harbor area. The island is known for its fine beaches and diving, and pick flamingos, the island's signature bird, can often be seen, as Bonaire is one of the only flamingo breeding sites in the southern Caribbean.

What you will see along the way:

Your guided tour aboard the trolley traverses the capital city and travels past Dutch-influenced architecture and local monuments, including the island's largest Catholic Church, built in 1828. You'll also head through Nikiboko, the pleasant residential area, down lively streets for a chance to see both old and new Caribbean-style homes in candy-colored hues. Then, head down Waterfront Street for views of the Bay of Bonaire and graceful sailboats bobbing in the blue waters and take in Kaya Grandi, the main shopping district, brimming with boutiques and markets.

Special Notes:

Museum accepts last group no later than 16:30 / 4:30 pm.
Afternoon tours as of 3:30pm, museum visit will be replaced by a walking tour along the main/shopping street.
