Step back in time in the quaint countryside of Mecklenburg, one of northern Germany's most historic regions. A motorcoach takes you through several charming villages en route to Bad Doberan, the former summer residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg, where you'll visit its most famed landmark, Bad Doberan Minster, a 13th-century medieval monastery and the largest of all the Cistercian churches in Europe. Then, it's all aboard the Molli train for a ride on the historic narrow-gauge train that connects Bad Doberan to one of the most idyllic seaside resorts at the German Baltic sea, Kuehlungsborn, equipped with a lovely promenade and distinctive vacation atmosphere. Stop for refreshments and a traditional pastry at a local bakery. Take your coffee and pastry with you and explore the shops for souvenirs. Return to ship via a scenic drive.

Special Notes:

We recommend that knees and shoulders are covered in the minster church. Tour sequences may vary to avoid congestions at venues. To enter and exit the steam train, 3 high steps need to be taken. The coach for the city tour is equipped with seat belts, guests are required to use them. Guests may not stay on the coach during free time. The tour runs during all weather conditions. Guests should be prepared for the possibility of rain. It is advisable to bring some small change of Euro coins as some shops do not accept other currencies nor Credit Cards for small purchases (furthermore, guests may have to pay for public bathroom facilities, usually between 50,- cents and 1,-Euro pp). Please note: many shops are closed on Sundays and bank holidays. Only a few souvenir shops may be open.
