Berlin Highlights by Coach & Time On Your Own

Start your day as you board a chartered motorcoach for an approximately 2 ½ hour journey to Berlin. During the motorcoach ride a host will hand out a snack box and informational material on the way.

Once you arrive in Berlin meet your guide on the platform und follow them to your waiting motorcoach. Your morning driving tour of Berlin will include photo stops at the Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Wall. You will also pass by other sights such as Checkpoint Charlie and the Reichstag, the seat of the German Parliament, the Gendarmenmarkt Square, Tiergarten Park and the Victory Column to give you a good overview of the city.

Your guided tour ends at the Berlin's and Germany's most famous shopping mile, Kurfurstendamm Boulevard, featuring an abundance of shops, designer outlets and continental Europe's largest Department Store, KaDeWe.. From here you can explore Berlin independently in the afternoon. Go for a walk, do some shopping or have lunch in one of the many cafes and restaurants. Once your independent is time coming to an end, meet your fellow travellers and escort for the transfer to the ship. Passengers will also be given an "emergency kit" with important telephone numbers and of course the meeting time and place for your return journey. Your host will hand out a little snack on the way before you arrive back at your ship.

Special Notes:

The motorcoach ride between Warnemünde and Berlin is approximately 2½ hours each way. The motorcoach is air-conditioned. This tour is not available to passengers beginning or ending their cruise in Warnemunde.

Tour sequences may vary to avoid congestions at venues.
The coach for the city tour is equipped with seat belts, guests are required to use them. Guests may not stay on the coach during free time. The tour runs during all weather conditions. Guests should be prepared for the possibility of rain.
It is advisable to bring some small change of Euro coins as some shops do not accept other currencies nor Credit Cards for small purchases (furthermore, guests may have to pay for public bathroom facilities, usually between 50,- cents and 1,-Euro pp). Shopping location may vary as most shops are closed on Sundays and bank holidays. Only a few souvenir shops may be open.
