What you will visit:
Bryggen Wharf
Rebuilt after a series of great fires, Bryggen is included on UNESCO's World Heritage List, a medieval port with candy-colored wooden buildings once belonging to the Hanseatic League, a guild of German and Baltic merchants who built a trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th centuries. The rebuilding utilized old patterns and methods, and some 60-plus structures have been historically preserved, forming a townscape of restaurants, artist galleries and craft shops.

Fish Market
Situated within the heart of the city, the Bergen Fish Market - a cacophony of color, sound and aroma - has been in operation since the 1200s as the meeting place for fisherman and merchants. Displaying an abundance of seafood as well as vegetables, fruits and flowers, it is one of Norway's most visited outdoor marketplaces. Here, visitors can taste fresh oysters still in their shells and munch freshly boiled shrimp and other delicacies straight from the arctic waters.
Magic Ice Bar:
A chilly twist on the local watering hole, Bergen's Ice Bar is the creation of world-renowned ice carvers who craft and then re-craft the bar several times within the year. Guest don provided ponchos and gloves for an enchanting sub-zero experience. Drinks are served in handcrafted ice glasses, dramatic sculptures and iridescent lighting enhance the experience, and the translucent walls are adorned with works of art by popular local artists.

What you will see along the way:
Bergan's cityscapes, architecture and spectacular seven mountains that surround the city center are hallmarks of this large city with a small-town ambiance. The romantic charms of Bergen's old Hanseatic Quarter, with its salted, cobblestoned streets and rich sea-faring traditions, are still found, although much of the area has been gentrified. The heart of the town, including its picturesque harbor front and lively marketplace, is atmospheric and studded with structures that have played a role in Bergen's 900-year history.
