Belize Barrier Reef
One of the most diverse ecosystems in the world, the Belize Barrier Reef is comprised of 70 hard coral species and 36 soft coral species and is home to 500 species of fish, with many more still to be discovered. Charles Darwin described it as "the most remarkable barrier reef in the West Indies" in 1842. A large portion of the reef is protected by the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System and offers incredible diving and snorkeling opportunities. It was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1996 due to its spectacular beauty and ecological and biological significance. Participants must know how to swim and have some snorkel experience.

Starfish Private Island
Take a well-deserved break on this beautiful tropical oasis, one of Belize's premier private islands. Family friendly Starfish Island puts you in charge of the day. This private retreat offers swimming and a wide variety of watersports rentals (at your own expense). Music adds to the ambience, and the bar and snack shack serve up frosty drinks and popular fare. Water shoes are advised.

Among the reef's wonders are exquisite flora, fauna, 106 different species of live coral, 500 species of colorful fish and hundreds of invertebrate species. The natural reef protection provides safe and easy snorkeling perfect for both beginners and advanced snorkelers. High-quality snorkeling gear is provided.

Sip a complimentary rum punch as you enjoy the leisurely cruise to Starfish Private Island. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to purchase beverages at the cash bar or tasty snacks off the menu (at your own expense).

Special Notes:

Participants must know how to swim and have some snorkel experience. Maximum age allowed is 80 years old. Minimum age to participate is 8 years old. Maximum weight allowed is 270 lbs. Snorkeling equipment including snorkel vest are provided and must be worn. Once participants join their tour, they will be required to complete a liability waiver. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel and adequate sun protection. Tour time may vary due to tendering procedures.
