What you will visit:

Belfast Pub Walk
No visit to Belfast would be complete without experiencing the local pub culture. Embark on a guided evening walking tour of the capital of Northern Ireland, a city steeped in the tradition of family and friends. For centuries, a traditional Irish pub has been characterized by its inviting atmosphere and casual culture. Originally a pub was called a public house - as important to the community as the neighborhood church. It was a place to gather and meet the locals, catching up on the 'craic,' or local gossip. Many folks have one particular pub, called 'the local,' where the customers, bar staff and regulars know each other well.

What you will see along the way:
Your walk will introduce several of Belfast's most popular pubs. One of the most famous you might see is the 19th-century Morning Star, situated down a narrow lane and marked by an authentic Victorian sign that hangs from iron brackets. One of the city's most historic pubs, it was originally a coach stop for the Belfast-to-Dublin post. McHughs Bar is located in the city's oldest building, built in 1711 and lovingly restored to its original Georgian splendor. Bittles Bar is nestled in a curious triangular building built in 1861 and decorated with gilded shamrocks. Founded in 1630, White's Tavern has the motif of a bygone era. This wine and spirits pub is down a cobblestone lane and displays framed newspaper articles dating back to the 19th century.

Tastings:
One drink per person is included in two of the pubs you will visit. Tips to remember: If you ask for 'a pint' in an Irish pub, you will be given a pint of stout, the black beer brewed by Guinness. It takes approximately three minutes to "pull" a pint of Guinness; once it is in front of you, wait for it to settle before drinking it!

Special Notes:

2 drinks of choice per person (pint of beer, glass of wine or soft drink)

Pubs visited will vary. Minimum age for drinking alcohol is 18.

During your walking tour, you will experience a little of what the city of today offers its inhabitants. Shops, pubs and busy streets lend welcome additions to the Belfast of times past. Return to the ship by coach.

The minimum legal drinking age in Ireland is 18; passengers under 18 will not be permitted an alcoholic drink.
