As you make your way down through the forest you will be in ore of the magnificent 900 year old kauri tree and learn about its struggle to survive throughout the generations of time.

Haruru Falls
Tucked away in a hidden valley on the peaceful Waitangi River, is the first river port of New Zealand known by Maori as an aromoana or ocean path, a pathway used by inland mâori tribes and also by early settlers as a means to move the ancient kauri trees from the forest out to sea for export.
