Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

In addition to its award-winning wines, Oregon also has a growing reputation for award-winning beers. Although the industry is only a few decades old, the breweries of Oregon and their products are known around the world for quality and innovation. This three-hour excursion will take you to three local brew pubs where you can sample various styles of beers and ales.

Your tasting tour begins at the pier as you climb aboard a motorcoach. Guides, knowledgeable in the history and the making of Astoria beer, will lead the way to your first destination. As the bus makes its way through town, sit back, relax and take in the stunning views of the Columbia River right outside your window.

Brew pubs visited will vary and all have a unique story. Fort George Brewery + Public House was established in 2007 and specializes in innovative and exciting flavors such as coffee stout. The Rogue Public House occupies a former Bumble Bee tuna cannery and sits on Astoria Riverwalk, a five-mile river trail that's lined with hotels, restaurants, parks and a nearly 100-year-old restored trolley train. The Astoria Brewing Company riverfront deck is open during the summer and offers a fantastic view of the Columbia River. Some of the beers you might try include "Strawberry Blonde," which attributes its light pink to golden opaque hue to the barley, wheat and 90 pounds of strawberries. Buoy Beer is located in a 90-year-old cannery building on the waterfront, and their Cream Ale is a local favorite. Astoria's newest brewery, Reach Break, focuses on large-bodied stouts, farmhouse-inspired brews and hoppy IPAs.

You'll return to your ship with a greater understanding and appreciation of this growing industry.
