Aqaba is Jordan's only seaport. Located at the southernmost tip of Jordan on the Red Sea, this city boasts a lovely backdrop of sun, sea, and mountains, as well as a pleasant year-round climate. Aqaba also claims a rich history of Nabataean trading, features prominently in the memoirs of Lawrence of Arabia and, for those who are interested in what is under the water, Aqaba boasts some of the most pristine coral reefs in the Red Sea. In the heart of the city you will find the ruins of the old city of Ayla. You can see where the city gates were, as well as mosques, churches and the city walls. Drive by coach to Wadi Rum, a 1¼-hour journey into a red landscape of soaring peaks and plunging valleys. After a short stop will be made at the Wadi Rum visitor's center for a photo opportunity, Arrive at the Desert Camp and enjoy lunch in a huge, carpeted Bedouin tent, followed by Arabian tea and local delicacies.
