26 Glacier Cruise & Transfer (Wheelchair Accessible)

Stretch your legs on a short walk from the cruise ship to your sightseeing vessel. From your catamaran, you'll come face to face with towering masses of ice so close that you can hear the glaciers move. Gaze at their brilliant blue hues while you encounter several types of glaciers, including the alpine (hanging), piedmont and tidewater. It's not uncommon to see glaciers calve (when pieces of ice break off into the water) during the cruise. To witness this massive movement of ice and hear its thunderous roar is truly an unforgettable experience.

Yet, with the bounty of glacial wonders, it's not just about the ice. The wildlife is equally astounding. Enjoy sightings of sea otters, seals, porpoises, sea lions and bald eagles during the cruise. You may also spot bears, mountain goats and whales - both humpback and orca. At the end of the trip, we'll stop at a bird rookery that is home to thousands of kittiwakes.

Professional narration is provided by U.S. Forest Service Rangers on every cruise. Your vessel is the largest, fastest and most luxurious catamaran in all of Alaska. Enjoy the Captain's Log route guide, reserved seating, heated cabins, and large panoramic windows offering excellent views from every seat. A complimentary hot meal is served with hot tea, coffee, and ice water available at self-serve stations.

After the cruise transportation to Anchorage along the scenic Seward Highway by motorcoach is a relaxing and informative way to end the day.

Special Notes:

The content of this tour is identical to WH1-625. Only guests using a wheelchair can book this tour, as it ensures accessible transportation. Due to the specialized nature of some lift-equipped vehicles, priority is given to guests using a wheelchair and one companion only; additional companions may be required to travel on the transportation provided for tour WH1-625. Bookings not marked with an accessibility requirement will be removed from the tour's inventory.

This tour can accommodate manual and electric wheelchairs. The lift on the vehicle can accommodate a maximum weight of 600 lbs., maximum length of 46 inches and maximum width of 30 inches. Passengers with disabilities must contact the onboard Tour Office at least 48 hours prior to the excursion to ensure arrangements can be made to meet their particular needs. This tour is available to passengers disembarking in Whittier with an overnight stay in Anchorage after their cruise or departing on flights after 10:00pm on the day of disembarkation. It is not available to passengers on back-to-back voyages who will stay onboard the ship and cruise back to Vancouver. This tour drops at select Anchorage hotels (Sheraton, Westmark Anchorage, Hilton Garden Inn, Lakefront Hotel and Hotel Captain Cook) by 7:30pm for guests with an overnight stay and the Anchorage airport by 8:00pm for guests with late departing flights. Guests at hotels other than those listed should make their own way to their hotel after collecting their luggage at the airport.

Whittier tours are only available to cruisetour guests who spend the first night of their package in Anchorage. Other cruisetour guests cannot take an excursion as they would miss the transfer to their next destination.

Meal: Wild Alaskan Smoked Salmon Chowder OR Hearty Vegetable Chili served with a Julienne Vegetable Salad, Multi-Grain roll and butter, Oyster Crackers, Tropical Fruit Cup, and a York Peppermint Pattie. Gluten Free option available upon request.
