Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

For the foodies and the master chefs, learn the art of traditional clay pot cooking with a cooking class at the charming Masurina Lodge. You'll assist the local chef in preparing this delicious meal before sitting down to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
Depart the wharf and travel through the township of Alotau and up the hill to a scenic lookout with spectacular panoramic views over the city. Take time to enjoy a brief photo stop before reboarding the coach and making your way to Masurina Lodge. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival before being escorted to the hotel kitchen back of house to meet the chef.
It's time to commence your traditional cooking class. You'll assist the chef in preparing a traditional meal using a clay pot. This is a hands-on experience so get ready to show off your skills.
After preparation is complete, you'll have some time to spare while your food is cooking. You'll be invited to visit the small but unique World War II exhibit on display at Masurina Lodge. The local region played an integral part in World War II and was the site of the Battle of Milne Bay. It was here that the Allied troops defeated the Japanese Special Naval Landing Forces, halting their advance across the Pacific.
Once lunch is ready, it's time to take a seat in the air conditioned dining room and tuck into the delicious meal that you helped to prepare. You may have some free time after lunch to swim, use the waterslide or relax with a drink by the bar (own expense) before reboarding the coach. Should you wish to stay longer at the resort, there will be public shuttles available to take you back to the ship.
