WHAT YOU VISIT
At 20-miles-long, the Hjorundfjord is considered one of the most magnificent and lesser-known fjords in Norway. Relax on board and marvel at the wonderful views of the rugged, skyscraping peaks of the Sunnmore Alps, with some rising up from the fjords to heights of up to 5,000 feet above sea level. As the ships makes its way back to Alesund, you'll journey through the scenic Vegsundet and Borgundfjord.
Everywhere you point your camera is one photo op after another. Marvel at the steep rock walls, green meadows dotted with goats, sheep and cows, and isolated mountain farms that have been rebuilt over and over again, after avalanches and landslides.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Keep your eyes open for the 'Trollman' image on the 5,282-foot-tall Nes-staven Mountain. According to ancient legend, a troll was carved into one of the mountains by St. Olav when the two battled and one of Olav's arrows grazed his enemy.
