WHAT YOU VISIT
Bowen
Nestled on the Whitsunday Coast on the shores of Edgecumbe Bay, Bowen is known for its palm fringed beaches and beautiful bays. Morning tea/coffee and cake awaits at a local bakery where locals will share interesting anecdotes about the town followed by a guided tour of a historic 1940's cinema. PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
While in Bowen, be sure to take a selfie with the Big Mango, a 32-foot-tall fiberglass mango sculpture that pays tribute to the prosperous mango orchards in the area.

LUNCH
Feast on a delicious lunch of seafood or sandwiches and burgers at the local seafood co-op overlooking the fishing fleet.

SHOPPING
During your photo stop at the Big Mango, you can shop for souvenirs and buy a scoop of mango sorbet.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
En route to Bowen, you'll travel through the cane fields, along the stunning coastline and into the picturesque hinterland. Cross the Proserpine River, which is home to saltwater crocodiles.

Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, and bring plenty of biodegradable sunscreen and bottled water.
