Bay Discovery Centre
Celebrating the cultural heritage of South Australia, the Discovery Centre features multimedia displays, and permanent and temporary exhibitions tell the fascinating stories of Glenelg's past from the first inhabitants to the first European settlers with a showcase for local art.
The Pioneer Memorial was erected in 1936 a century after the first pioneers led by Colonel William Light arrived in 1836.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Your one-hour guided walk led by a local historian takes you past the Holdfast Shores Marina, Colley Terrace historic buildings, the Glenelg Jetty and the Pioneer Memorial dedicated to the brave settlers who arrived here over 180 years ago.
