What you visit:
Aarhus canal:
The canal of the Aarhus River was an important development for the early settlements that grew around it. The canal has great significance to the history of the city, and today the banks -- lined with cafes and boutiques -- is a natural place to take in the city's charming ambience.

ARoS Aarhus Art Museum:
One of Europe's largest art museums, ARoS is located in the heart of city. With four large exhibition galleries and a smaller West Gallery, the museum showcases an extensive collection of over 1,100 paintings, 7,000 drawings, 400 sculptures and installations, and 200 videos exhibiting both national and international artists. The modern museum is crowned by one of the most distinctive works of art in Denmark, the "Your Rainbow Panorama," a circular skyway that allows you to view the city through multicolored glass windows.

"Den Gamle By" -- The Old Town Museum:
An opportunity not just to learn the history of Denmark but to actually experience it starts at the three-Michelin-stars attraction in Aarhus, Den Gamle By. This Old Town Museum is a National Open Air Museum of Urban History and Culture that has shown more than three million visitors what Danish life was like in yesteryear. Interact with costumed characters, step into their homes and sample cake and coffee in the tea garden. Children will enjoy playing authentic games and using the hands-on displays.

What you see along the way:
As you travel through Aarhus, enjoy the youthful and vibrant energy of Denmark's second-largest city, seemingly blending its past with a cosmopolitan flare. From the 12th century cathedral and 14th century Latin Quarter to the strikingly modern architecture and busy café society, there is something amazing around every corner.
