'Did you know that Ireland is the largest tea consumer per capita of any country in the world? And the perfect accompaniment is the humble and flaky scone. Discover how to create this perfect teatime treat during a four-hour excursion that offers a private demonstration with Catherine Fulvio (subject to availability), acclaimed chef and proprietor of the Ballyknocken Cookery School, House and Restaurant.

After boarding your motorcoach you'll journey south into County Wicklow. Sit back and relax as Dublin's cityscapes slowly meld into the idyllic countryside. 15,000 years ago, the area drifting past your window was completely covered by thick glaciers. Today, this former ice land is a harmonious landscape of rolling pastureland, lush forests and mist-shrouded mountains, proving that it deserves the much-beloved title as the 'Garden of Ireland.'

As you further make your way into the country's interior, the Wicklow Mountains will be your constant companion. Once the home of wild boars and wolves, the green mountains were also a popular hideaway for those who opposed English rule in the 18th century.

An hour later, you'll arrive at the charming Ballyknocken House and Restaurant, a 4-star bed and breakfast and home to TV chef and food writer, Catherine Fulvio. Ms. Fulvio's culinary talents are highly acclaimed in Ireland and abroad. Not only is she a regular contributor to Irish Garden magazine but she's also been featured in Saveur magazine and has appeared on NBC's The Today Show. And she has won a number of awards for her many cookbooks including 2011's Gourmand World Cookbook Award for 'Catherine's Italian Kitchen.' But it's her skills in the kitchen and her emphasis on local and seasonal produce that has earned her such an excellent reputation.

After your arrival, your host will greet you and lead you into her kitchen. Here, you'll discover how flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, butter, cream and eggs can create the perfect teatime delicacy called a scone. As a remembrance of your visit, the scone recipe is yours to take home.

Following the baking demonstration, you're invited to sit and enjoy freshly baked scones served with homemade jam and coffee or a 'cupan tae.' After your relaxing tea you can explore the picturesque herb garden.

Once you've completed your epicurean journey of sight, scent and taste, you'll board the coach and return to port, eager to plan your next exciting adventure.
