Tour Overview

A truly memorable day beckons as you board the bus and head deep into wine country. The Barossa Valley is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but has a rich history of wine-making going back to when European settlers arrived here 150 years ago.

As you head out of Adelaide, your friendly guide will point out the many interesting landmarks that make this city so special.

Today, the Barossa Valley is Australia's single most important wine producing region, and your first stop will be the wonderful Seppeltsfield Winery where you will enjoy a tasting. Continue on to the wonderful town of Tanunda. An Aboriginal word meaning "watering hole," or "many birds on a creek," Tanunda was founded by German settlers in the 1850s. The village proudly retains its European heritage, and you will have a chance to browse its German sausage and bread shops, as well as boutiques, galleries and wine shops.

Located in the heart of the Barossa Valley, Angaston is one of South Australia's oldest towns. This historical rural village has well preserved old buildings, huge street trees, pastoral vistas, and a delightful shopping area and is the setting for lunch.

After lunch journey to the Jacobs Creek Visitors centre for a formal wine tasting from this popular Australia winery. Heading back to Adelaide, you will then stop for a breathtaking photo opportunity at Mengler's Hill Lookout, which was named after a wine pioneer, and offers an excellent view of the valley's vineyards.
