Experience Croatia's dramatic landscape from the comfort of a rugged Land Rover Defender Jeep. With a well-trained driver behind the wheel, you can soak up the beauty of Northern Velebit National Park, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site noted for its beech forests. With towering Velebit Mountain looking over you, your driver will steer his way through the rough and rocky landscape to the spectacular canyon that hugs the emerald green Zrmanja River. Lined with juniper, beech and oak trees, the river is home to gray herons, cormorants, mallard ducks, doves, and peregrine falcons. After stopping for photos the drive continues to the Memet Trail and a walk to the famed Mamet Pit, Europe's deepest pit at 260 meters (853 feet). Photos taken, you'll return to the valley for lunch before crossing to the north side of Velebit and Alan Pass for magnificent views of the Velebit Channel.
