The Kuranda Scenic Railway was built from 1886 to 1891 to connect Cairns with the North Queensland goldfields. It's a spectacular journey through the Kuranda Mountains, with magnificent views of Australia's World Heritage Rainforest, steep ravines and picturesque waterfalls, crossing 37 bridges and traveling through 15 tunnels.
