Check out the scenic vistas of Kauai
Hawaiian cruise destinations
Hawaii is famous for its endless tropical beaches, but the Pacific destination offers so much more. When you visit the island of Kauai on a Hawaiian cruise, you will be able to see a wide range of beautiful attractions unlike anything else on Earth.
One of the most popular destinations on Kauai is Waimea Canyon. Located in the southwestern side of the island, this breathtaking gorge stretches for miles, giving you unparalleled views of the area's jagged and rocky terrain. Once you have visited, you'll understand why this amazing spot has been nicknamed the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific."
Another attraction famous for its dramatic vistas is the Na Pali Coast, named for the Hawaiian word for "cliffs." This stretch of shoreline is situated on the northwestern edge of Kauai, and its remoteness has made it a popular filming location for major blockbusters. You may have already seen the area in movies like "Jurassic Park" and "King Kong." Whether you've spotted the coast on the silver screen or not, you're sure to be wowed by its stunning peaks and waterfalls. Because the Na Pali Coast is so difficult to access by car, many travelers up the ante by visiting the area in a more thrilling way by taking a helicopter tour.
During your trip to Kauai, you won't want to miss the Wailua River. This peaceful waterway is a great place to experience the lush Hawaiian forest, and it leads directly to the legendary Fern Grotto. This natural rock amphitheater is covered with leafy ferns, giving it great acoustics that make the area a top spot for concerts and other musical events.
If you'd rather not dive into the heart of the jungle, you can still experience Kauai's flora at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens. The island is home to several different gardens, each of which holds a wide array of plants and animals from around the state.
Just as Kauai is an amazing destination for those who want to see Hawaii's natural landscape, it also attracts people interested in learning about its human history. At the Grove Farm Homestead, you can learn about island life in the 19th century as you explore the main house, farm office and worker homes of a traditional sugar plantation.
