Swashbuckling and more in Antigua
Caribbean Cruise Destinations
The island of Antigua is a perfect stop for travelers on a Caribbean cruise, as this tropical paradise offers travelers plenty to do both on and off the beach.
According to Frommers, finding a spot along the shore won't be a problem in Antigua, as the island has "a beach for every day of the year." It's entirely possible that many travelers will simply want to spend all day relaxing by the sea, but they'll miss out on a lot of the island's rich history.
One of the top spots that travelers should visit is Nelson's Dockyard. A relic of the imperialist era, this naval port now features museums, boutiques and much more. Frommer's describes it as a scene out of "Pirates of the Caribbean," so travelers interested in exploring the island's past should definitely book and excursion here.
Speaking of "Pirates of the Caribbean," those interested in a more lively atmosphere can book a trip on the "Black Swan," a pirate ship that features all sorts of amenities. Whether it's flying off the ship's rope swing or sipping on "pirate grog," even landlubbers will likely not want to head back to shore after this harbor cruise.
