Mexico Riviera Cruises offers the Dual Nature of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo
It's not often that travelers can have two vastly different experiences in one port of call, but the area of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo offers just that.
These two towns, which lay side-by-side on the coast of the Mexican Riviera, offer travelers two distinctly different visions of Mexico. Ixtapa provides cruise vacationers with all the luxuries and conveniences of modern infrastructure, as the town is heavily populated by resorts and high-end shopping experiences. Travelers looking for bustling nightlife or a relaxing day on the beach will find Ixtapa more than satisfactory.
Zihuatanejo, on the other hand, offers a bit more authentic Mexican experience. Just four miles away from Ixtapa, this small town, or "pueblo," will give travelers a chance to experience life in a subdued coastal town. There are plenty of restaurants where travelers can sample the local flavor, or simply walk around the quaint village. Of course, Zihuatanejo features beaches as well, and travelers who wish to snorkel or scuba dive will have plenty of opportunities to do so.
Whether they're seeking the glitzy high-life of Ixtapa or the laid-back easiness of Zihuatanejo, those on a Mexican cruise will have the luxury to choose either - or both - when they visit here.
