Denali National Park offers guests beautiful natural scenery
Denali, Alaska
An Alaskan cruise is a great way to experience the great outdoors, and travelers will have a wonderful opportunity to do just that when they visit Denali National Park.
Denali is perhaps best known as the home of Mount McKinley, which, at 20,320-feet tall, is the highest point in North America. Yet McKinley isn't the only reason to visit this protected park. All sorts of wildlife roam over the six million acres park, including eagles, caribou and grizzly bears.
As beautiful as Denali is, guests who quickly plan a trek will miss out on much of the rich history of this gorgeous area. Organized tours are one way to learn about Denali, but those who prefer to strike out by themselves can check out the Denali Visitor's Center. This structure functions as a museum, with a number of exhibits dedicated to the region's wildlife, mining interests and the Athabascan people who call the area home.
For those less adventurous travelers, the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge is a safe and secure mansion built in the middle of the woods that will tend to all of a traveler's needs. It can be relaxing just to spend some time here and take in the scenery before the cruise ship leaves for the next destination.
