Isla Margarita, Venezuela
Located off the north shore of Venezuela, Isla Margarita boasts year-round sunshine and a wealth of "pearls." Known as the "Pearl of the Caribbean," the name refers to the beautiful beaches and is a reference to the Spanish conquest of 1498, when discoverers found the waters full of these ocean treasures and baptized the location La Margarita, or "the pearl."
Porlamar
The east end of the island is where the shoppers' paradise of Porlamar is located. In Porlamar, El Agua beach is the most famous and popular beach on the island.
La Restinga National Park
