Geiranger, Norway
The fjord of Geiranger is one of most famous of Norway. Surrounded by mountains reaching over 3,000 feet high, the impressive natural beauty has led some to pronounce it the "most beautiful fjord in the world." To get here, a 60-mile passage leads through sheer, steep cliffs and spectacular views of waterfalls.
The Seven Sisters
Incredible waterfalls in the Geiranger Fjord highlight the surrounding scenery. Found along the northern face, The Seven Sisters has a maximum drop of around 820 feet. Across from the sisters is Friaren, The Suitor, positioned as if asking for a sister's hand in marriage.
Mount Dalsnibba
The dramatic landscape includes snow-covered mountains, glaciers and lakes from many vantage points. From the top of Mount Dalsnibba see a bird's-eye view of the scenery and cruise ships moored almost 5,000 feet below.
Herdal Farm
The unique mountain farm of Herdal is perhaps Norway's largest goat fellesseter, or cooperative dairy farm located in a spectacular setting in the mountains. The environment and traditions of hand milking and cheese making can be viewed on a visit.
