Vava'u, Tonga
The isles of Vava'u (pronounced "vav-ah-oo"), part of the Pacific island kingdom of Tonga, are just as you might imagine paradise to be. Here, you can stroll along near-empty palm-fringed beaches, snorkel in the balmy blue waters of Mala Passage, go big-game fishing or head to the offshore reefs for superb diving with exceptional underwater visibility – often as much as 30 meters (100 feet).
