Levuka, Fiji
Located on the south-east coast of the Fijian island of Ovalau is Levuka, a small town with a big history. Founded by Europeans in 1820, Levuka – Fiji’s first capital – was once an important port and trading post. Today, it is the economic hub of Ovalau and the largest of the island’s settlements.
Museum
Take a historical tour of the town and visit the fascinating Levuka Museum, or stroll down to the northern end and find the traditional Fijian Village Chief who is a direct descendant of the Chief who welcomed the first European settlers.
