Princess Rail
Princess Rail

Getting to the Alaska wilderness is just as spectacular being there when you travel via Princess Rail. Between your ship and our Denali-area Princess wilderness lodges lie 500 miles of Alaska’s most scenic, unspoiled wilderness.

You’ll travel the route of the historic Alaska Railroad, built between 1903 and 1923. Carving through some of the state’s most picturesque and unspoiled countryside, Princess Rail will take you on a journey that’s as memorable as the destination.

Princess Rail is offered on most land & sea vacations. It features glass-domed rail cars and open-air observation platforms offering dramatic views of the wilderness. There are onboard rail guides providing expert commentary, pointing out wildlife and landmarks – so keep your binoculars handy. Depending on the route, you may journey through stunning Matanuska Valley and cross the 265-foot-tall Hurricane Gulch.

There are also wonderful dining options, and every step of the way, you’ll enjoy the same trademark Princess service found on our ships and at our lodges.
