Golden Princess Drydock
From April 16 to May 5, 2009, Golden Princess went through the most extensive drydock ever undertaken by Princess. And for the first time, a cruise line took passengers behind the scenes for an exclusive look at the work in progress. This photo journal chronicled the daily developments as the ship was drydocked in Victoria Shipyards in British Columbia, and through its first days back at sea. We hope cruise enthusiasts will enjoy this look back at the ship's dramatic transformation and the dedicated teamwork that made it possible to accomplish such a complex project in just three weeks. The flurry of activity pictured here shows the various stages of the addition of Princess' signature features, such as a new piazza-style atrium, an adults-only Sanctuary, Movies Under the Stars poolside screen and many more enhancements
