Tour Overview
The charming capital city of Victoria is even more fun and exciting when viewed from the top of an English-style double-decker bus! Fully narrated by knowledgeable driver/guides, this economical, one-hour adventure reveals the best of Victoria's architectural monuments, gracious homes, exquisite gardens and historic points of interest.
Victoria, western Canada's oldest city, was founded in 1843 as a Hudson's Bay Company trading post. The most "British" city in all of Canada, Victoria boasts prominent reminders of its colonial past in its carefully preserved architecture. On your drive you will see the elegant Victorian and Edwardian-era mansions and impressive monuments that define this city's architectural style.
Your guide will tell the fascinating history behind such famous landmarks as the Empress Hotel, Bastion Square, and Antique Row. See the quaint shops and narrow alleys in the country's oldest Chinatown. Drive through the stately downtown area where the Legislative Buildings dramatically line the Inner Harbour. Visit the Oak Bay Village with its truly English town-site appeal and stop along the waterfront at the Oak Bay Marina for an encounter with the local harbor seals.
A number of photo opportunities make this a memorable and relaxing way to get to know the city and the short time commitment allows for independent sightseeing, with the optional downtown drop off near the completion of tour.
