Explore the streets and by-ways of Hong Kong on a half-day, rigorous walking tour of this vibrant and bustling city. Begin at your pier where, accompanied by a friendly and knowledgeable guide, you will board an air-conditioned motorcoach for a brief scenic drive.
Your journey takes you to the famous Man Mo Temple. The intoxicating smell of incense wafts through this magnificent temple built in 1848 in dedication to the God of Literature (Man) and the God of War (Mo).
Continue your walking tour along Hollywood Road, famous for stores specializing in antiques and China's sorrel wood furniture. Peruse the charming antique shops and open-air curio market ideal for picking up eclectic souvenirs and gifts.
Enjoy a ride down a portion of the 2,600 foot "people mover" escalator, the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world that links the Central and Western Districts of Hong Kong.
Have your cameras at the ready as you come upon the Central District Police Station, an imposing, gray building with Doric-style columns and fašade, reminiscent of Hong Kong's colonial past.
Indulge in some retail therapy at Li Yuen East and West Street Markets. These two narrow lanes are packed with shops, street stalls and people in search of fabulous bargains. Enjoy free time to shop for souvenirs, clothing, costume jewelry, handbags, hair and fashion accessories, watches, fabrics, shoes, and much more. Bargaining is expected, but even without a discount, most of the products here are reasonably priced.
Stroll along Pottinger Street and Stanley Street where vendors sell ribbons, bows and buttons prior to re-boarding your motorcoach for your scenic drive back to your ship.
