Tour Overview
Board your comfortable motorcoach and embark on an exotic adventure that explores some of Singapore's most treasured and most beautiful cultural spots. You're day starts with a high point as you drive through the streets of Singapore on your way to Mt. Faber, the highest part of the town. Take out your camera and capture the magnificent panoramic views of the harbor, Sentosa Island and the downtown district.
From the tallest sight to the most beautiful, your next stop is the National Orchid Garden, perched on a hill atop the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The National Orchid Garden is the jewel in the crown, displaying the world's largest collection of orchids in full splendor. It is designed with four colored zones to match the seasons and houses over 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids of orchids. See the "dignitaries," such as Margaret Thatcher, Nelson Mandela, Laura Bush and Princess Diana in the VIP (Very Important Plants) Garden.
Orchard Road might sound like the perfect place to pick apples, but it's actually Singapore's most fashionable shopping district. You'll be dazzled by the modern architecture as you drive down the streets en route to Merlion Park.
Here, you'll come face to face with Singapore's most popular tourism icon, The Merlion - a fountain sculpted with a lion's head and the body of a fish. The lion is representative of the animal that a Sumatran prince saw, and the fish pays tribute to Singapore's history as an ancient sea town.
Dominating the Marina Bay waterfront is the fantastic work of visionary architect Moshe Safdie. The Marina Bay Sands, considered the world's most expensive resort casino property, dominates the skyline and Singapore's new financial district.
The next stop is the exotic quarter, known as Little India, where the intoxicating scent of jasmine wafts through the air and stalls display colorful saris, dazzling jewelry, and local fruits and vegetables.
You're sure to work up an appetite, so you'll welcome the stop at a lovely Chinese restaurant located right in the middle of Little India. The delicious food is served family-style, so you'll have an opportunity to chat with your friends over the meal.
Refreshed, you're off to Chinatown, the original section where Chinese immigrants lived, worked and built a life. This native area is filled with quaint and cultural sights and wonderful traditional stores that you can browse. Learn about Chinese medicine, check out a teahouse and watch talented calligraphers create masterpieces with paper and ink.
At the completion of your exciting day, the motorcoach will return you to the Princess post-cruise hotel or Singapore airport.
