Your tour begins at the pier where you'll board a motorcoach and drive to Rosny Point Lookout for a photo opportunity. Enjoy panoramic views of Hobart and Mt. Wellington. We'll also make a photo stop at St. John's Church, the oldest Roman Catholic church in Australia.
Next, we'll travel to Richmond. This historic village is noted for its Georgian buildings, boutiques and galleries. Pass by the 1825 Gaol (jail) and view Richmond Bridge, built by convict labor in 1834. We'll also make a photo stop at St. John's Church, the oldest Roman Catholic church in Australia. You'll have enough time to discover old Richmond, including time on your own for shopping.
Afterwards, we'll travel via farming country to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. At this popular animal sanctuary, you'll observe some of Australia's most famous natives, such as koalas, Tasmanian devils and wombats, along with kangaroos and wallabies. The animals are allowed to roam free in their natural habitat. Sanctuary keepers are on hand to answer questions. You'll get a chance to interact with many of the animals. Bring your camera to capture the moment! You'll have one hour to enjoy the Sanctuary before re-boarding the motorcoach and returning to the pier.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry have advised that any passenger visiting the Bonorong Wildlife Conservation Centre must wash their shoes upon return to the ship for biosecurity reasons. This footwear will then need to be presented at the New Zealand Customs and Agriculture & Forestry Inspection which will take place during the cruise.
