Whether you're a World War II history buff or simply want to learn to hula, the world-famous city of Honolulu in Hawaii has a shore excursion to suit your needs.
Many travelers will not want to miss the opportunity to learn more about America's history with a trip to Pearl Harbor. The solemn USS Arizona Memorial is dedicated to the men and women who lost their lives in the attack and will likely be the focal point of most of the tours that stop in the area. You'll also have a chance to tour the USS Missouri and Punchbowl National Cemetary. Many of the Pearl Harbor shore excursions are combined with a trip to Iolani Palace, which will give you a chance to learn about Hawaii's history before it became an official U.S. state.
Of course, Pearl Harbor is far from the only attraction in Honolulu. An afternoon luau and trip to the Polynesian Cultural Center are great ways to immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture while enjoying a relaxing day. There's plenty of opportunity for adventure travel as well, whether it's a hike at the Diamond Head volcanic crater or swimming with dolphins.
It's safe to say that Honolulu will be the highlight of any South Pacific cruise, and with such a vast array of things to do, it's easy to see why.
