Many shore excursions take place during the day, but it can be fun to have a night out in a new setting as well. If your European cruise plans on stopping in Copenhagen, Denmark, you'll have the chance to experience some nighttime entertainment on the Tivoli Gardens excursion.
The trip starts with a luxurious nighttime cruise through Copenhagen's canals. The capital of Denmark is a beautiful city no matter what time of day, but seeing some of the famous buildings all lit up at night is certain to be one of the more memorable parts of your vacation. This particular cruise will sail past St. Saviour's Church, Amalienborg Palace, Christianshavn and the Old Stock Exchange.
Your boat ride will last just a little under an hour, which will give you plenty of time to explore Tivoli Gardens on your own for the rest of the night. Tivoli is one of the oldest amusement parks in the world, having opened its doors in 1843. Despite the park's deep historical roots, the attractions are a mix of both old and new, as it has been substantially upgraded over the years. Night is an especially perfect time to visit, as the park illuminates some of its more picturesque areas and features various shows not available during the daytime.
